Superheroes

Today I entertained Superheroes at my house. I fed them tacos and strawberries.  They designed their own paper shields for protection.  Then I fed them goldfish and fruit snacks (Superheroes get really hungry).

These superheroes found my physical therapy resistance bands and created several games using them.  One game involved two people pulling the band as hard as they could and catapulting a third person across the room.  I discovered this game when I heard shouts of glee coming from the playroom. When I asked about it, they were slightly embarrassed or worried they would get in trouble.

Another game involved tying up black Spider-man and spinning him around.  Apparently, Wolverine was overseeing Batman and Spider-man's efforts.  And the youngest superhero (who was tied up) was loving it.
Lastly, they took a little time out from their busy schedules to pose for me.
This was our guest Superhero. He wears handsome shirts.

Batman is ready for a fight.

The youngest of the Superheroes.

James, I mean Wolverine, is looking fierce

I love these Superheroes!

  1. Love it! It takes a super mom to raise superheroes! I love to watch/listen to boys play and use their imaginations--and man do they have imaginations!

    1. I thought the catapult game they game up was super creative but also a little dangerous. Thankfully no one got hurt. Andrew was totally trying to keep me out of the loop on that one. :)

  2. So cute. My kids haven't gotten into superheroes yet...but I'm sure it's probably coming! Any suggestions on non-scary movies to introduce them to it? How did your boys catch the bug?

    1. I'm not totally sure how they got into it. They were into pirates and knights for the longest time, but they morphed into superheroes in the last year or so. I think it started with getting some hand-me down costumes from a friend and then we started scooping them up whenever we see them on sale. And they have lots of the plastic superhero guys that they make fight each other. They only recently started watching some of the cartoon versions (Batman and Superhero Squad) and its pretty limited. Their main source of superhero knowledge is from books--some we own and some we get at the library. My kids have always been big into imaginary play/dress up. And now that they are Kindergarten, all the boys at school are into superheroes too.
