Day 7-Today's Advent Activity was shopping for others. We wanted the boys to do some shopping for other people who really need something, not just want more toys. Our boys don't have to worry about whether they will have underwear, socks or pajamas. They are fortunate. There are many in our backyard who don't have these items and certainly don't have new ones. So, that was the point of our shopping trip today.
Before we left, the boys dug into their piggy banks for the first time and brought out $5. We packed up the car and drove them to Walmart where they were each allowed to pick out one clothing item for a boy or a girl that they could donate to our church's care center.
They wanted to see all their options, so we walked through the boys, girls and infants departments pointing out different things that they could afford. It took a while, but they finally made decisions. They each picked different things.

Aaron wanted to pick some princess pjs. They were only $3, so he gave his extra money to his brothers to help buy more. |
 |
Andrew decided he wanted to buy size 4T, so he picked out Batman underwear and a boys hat. |
 |
James picked some girl underwear in size 4T and a pink hat. He chose to buy for a girl since Andrew bought for a boy. |
I love that your boys picked out things really thoughtfully! They are learning from their mom and dad :)
